Jupiter Bowl: Utah's Favorite Ski Run

During the early season, I can rely on getting one question from guests more than any other: "When's Jupiter opening?"

Serving expert skiers and snowboarders only, "Jupe" boasts a variety of hike-accessed terrain, backcountry-style skiing and riding, challenging steeps and all the powder stashes you could hope to find. Locals love it, and turn it into a celebration when Jupiter Lift opens for the season each winter. Exhibit A:

Given all that, it's no surprise that when The Salt Lake Tribune asked its readers to name their favorite run in Utah - Jupiter Bowl came out on top. Here's just part of why the Trib loves Jupiter: "Whether it’s heading down the Main Bowl, skiing the trees around 6 Bells or Portuguese Gap or traversing to either the West Face or Scott’s Bowl, Jupiter Bowl provides the steepness that exhilarates expert skiers and snowboarders plus light, deep snow more reminiscent of the Cottonwood canyons than most Park City-area skiing...You can ski through the trees, sometimes finding powder stashes days after the last storm, or pick whatever route appeals to you in the wide-open bowls to the left and right."

I might be biased, but I can't think of a better run to earn recognition like this. Thanks to all you who voted Jupe your favorite run - here's to another season of powder stashes on the way!
