5 Ways to Beat The Heat This Summer

It's no secret that the higher in elevation you climb, the more the temperature gradient drops, thus making Park City (situated at 6,800ft base elevation) the perfect spot to escape those sweltering summer days.  On average, Park City is anywhere from 10-15 degrees cooler than Salt Lake City in the summertime. For those of you "down in the valley" (SLC), this means only a 30-minute drive separates the relationship you have with your AC unit in the sizzlin' city and the cool, shaded, adventures that await at Park City Mountain.

1. Take Advantage of Off-Season Lodging Packages
The first step to beating the heat is to secure your lodging. The off-season typically provides low rates and currently, we're offering two different lodging packages to fulfill your summertime needs. If you plan on spending a weekend with us, the Park City Summer Adventure Package can't be beat. With Summer Adventure, you'll  be able to save 25% on lodging and receive an Alpine Day Pass for each member in your party.  If planning on making this a week long trip, check out our Savor the Summer Package. The longer you stay, the more you'll save.

While we're on the topic, for those of you looking forward to next winter, head on over to our vacation package web page and you'll find a great deal on winter lodging as well called Book Early, Save Big. Times running out on this offer as it expires on 7/31!

Bring the family, Park City Mountain has an amazing NEW Kids' Adventure Zone that will create memories your children will never forget.  For those who want to do it all, now you can with our Alpine Day Pass. 3. Explore Our Legendary Singletrack
Park City is home to over 400 miles of continuous, non-motorized biking and hiking trails throughout the community. Whether by bike or hike, the moment you step foot on the trail, your curiosity will always drive you to see what lies around the next bend. With mountainous overlooks, high alpine lakes and a hearty dose of wildlife, blooming wildflowers and more, you'll never run out of trails to explore. Don't have a mountain bike? 4. Dinner on Historic Main Street
As all locals know, the best thing after riding trails all day is to come off the mountain and cruise down Main Street for a recovery beer or four. Stop in the No Name Saloon or High West Whiskey for your post-ride beverage of choice then choose from one of the hundreds of restaurants Park City has to offer. Most restaurants have outdoor seating right on Main Street allowing you to never miss a moment of the action. Catch the sunset, fill up the stomach and prepare for another day in paradise.

5. Dance the Night Away
On select Saturday's this summer, pack a picnic, grab a glass of white and prepare to jive to the live music provided by our Summer Concert Series at Canyons Village. Join the entire Park City community as we all come together and dance underneath the sunset. Recently, The Wailers took the stage and this place was absolutely jammin' mon.
