Park City's $50 Million Capital Improvement Progress
— Posted by Park City on July 29, 2015
Our $50-million capital improvements are well under way this summer as we’ve been combining Park City Mountain Resort with Canyons Resort to create the largest ski area in the United States—Park City. Our mountain operations team has taken on the challenge with a full head of steam progressing more and more towards #oneparkcity.
The location of the formerly known Snow Hut Lodge has been a busy location for our resort improvements. Along with the construction of the interconnect gondola in the location, we also have set the framework for our new restaurant to take the place of the Snow Hut.
Introducing Miners Camp. Miners Camp will boast 500 indoor seats, a large deck and state of the art food servery. Miners Camp will offer a variety of homemade soups, made to order sandwiches and freshly tossed salads. It will be an amazing place to grab lunch before traveling on the new Gondola that connects you to more of the 7,300 skiable acres of America’s largest ski resort.
There’s been a lot of buzz about Park City lately. Between world-wide attention towards our improvements, our new brand launch and the sound of the helicopter delivering lift parts up the mountain, it is no question we have been very busy at the resort.
We are excited to show the world the new gondola named Quicksilver. The name Quicksilver represents the storied mining history of Park City and the speed of the new gondola. The new 8-passenger Quicksilver Gondola will span over 8,000 feet and will connect the Silverlode lift base area (and Miners Camp) to Flat Iron Lift in just under 9 minutes. Quicksilver Gondola also features a mid-station with ski access into the Canyons side of the mountain on 3 new runs and gated access into Thaynes Canyon on the Park City side. It will offer beautiful panoramic views of Park City, Old Town and Canyons Village once completed.
