Top Five Patios in Park City

When I moved to Park City last summer, one of the first things that struck me about the town was how it seemed that every single restaurant had a patio attached to it. Coming from the hot, muggy Midwest, I hardly ever considered eating outside. On the rare occasion that a restaurant had a patio to sit on, when asked if I would like to dine on the patio, my answer was always, “No, thank you. I’ll enjoy the A/C.”

But Park City is quite a bit different. The summer air is wonderfully mild and dry, making it the perfect temperature to do anything outdoors, and no bugs are buzzing around to ruin the ambiance. In short, it is perfect for patio dining.  It’s definitely been a nice change of pace for me to be able to enjoy a meal outside, and here are my five favorite patios in Park City:

1. Vinto

Vinto Patio

Vinto, located on lower Main, is a new restaurant in Park City. Its menu, an affordable variety of Italian cuisine, features wood fired pizzas, classic appetizers and a dessert selection that is to die for. The patio is surrounded by views of Park City Mountain Resort, lower Main Street and Aerie Hill, showcasing the diversity of scenery that Park City has to offer.

I would recommend ordering the bruschetta as an appetizer, followed by the Giovanni pizza, which features a seasonal fruit, and finally, the stracciatella gelato. Try out the Vinto patio on a Sunday afternoon after wandering through the vendors at the Park Silly Sunday Market.

2. No Name Saloon

No Name Saloon Rooftop

No Name Saloon is a favorite of tourists and locals year-round. With its excellent service, a great selection of beer and juicy 100% pure buffalo burgers, it’s not really hard to guess why. When walking in, it is easy to get distracted by the first bar you see, grab the first empty table you find, wait for the shuffle board table to open up and enjoy the cozy atmosphere.

I’m going to ask you to ignore all of those urges. Keep walking past all of this and head up the stairs located at the back of the bar. Upstairs, you’ll find one of the greatest rooftop patios in town. It is equipped with several tall tables and stone benches, heaters for cool nights, umbrellas for sunny summer days and a beautiful view of Main Street and of the wide-open Utah sky. This patio is perfect for a relaxing night out with a summer ale and some great friends.

3. Windy Ridge Café

Windy Ridge Patio

Windy Ridge Café is a great option for dining in the Prospector area. With its wide range of entrée choices on separate lunch and dinner menus, this locale is sure to please everyone in your family. The patio offers a peaceful, serene atmosphere that is hidden from the bustle of the surrounding neighborhood.

While most would recommend enjoying Windy Ridge for a casual lunch, I would advise stopping in on a summer Tuesday evening for their Taco Tuesdays. They serve a variety of taco options with a great salsa bar.

4. Silver Star Café

Silver Star Cafe Patio

Hidden in the shadow of our Silver Star chairlift and King Con mountainzone, Silver Star Café is a quaint spot, perfect for enjoying a sunny summer afternoon. The restaurant’s seating area is predominantly located on the patio, which is filled with large umbrellas and awnings to provide a comfortably shaded eating experience.

I would recommend enjoying either the Turkey BLT or Southwestern Chicken Salad with an iced tea after hiking Spiro.

5. Legends Bar & Grill

Legends Bar & Grill Patio

Located in Legacy Lodge in the Park City Mountain Resort plaza, Legends Bar & Grill has a great patio to enjoy after a day filled with on-mountain adventure. The Legends menu has a great selection of appetizers, flat bread pizzas, cocktails and entrées to savor as you watch the sun set on your exciting day of soaring above the trees on our zip lines, flying down the mountainside on our Alpine Coaster or racing down the lanes of our Alpine Slide.

My recommendation: Seared Ahi Nachos, a Mediterranean pizza and an Arnold Palmer as you relax and watch your kids do double backflips on the Legacy Launcher.
